About Me

Dr. Dana Gionta is a psychologist and coach with a specialization in the area of health and wellness. Over the past 12 years, she has worked as a clinician, educator, researcher and consultant to individuals, families, medical professionals, and health care organizations.

Dr. Gionta has a BA in Business from New York University, an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Rhode Island and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. Her uncommon educational foundation in both business and psychology, combined with a strong systems theory perspective, provides her with distinctive assessment and intervention skills that she relies on to help individuals as well as organizations.
 
Dr. Gionta is an Executive Coach and Senior Consultant for Coverdale  and has served as an  Adjunct Professor at Fairfield University and the University of New Haven (UNH).  She is a contributing author to Health Forum Online (www.healthforumonline.com), in the area of health communication.  Her book, "Medical Staff-Family Health Communication in Cancer" is available through Amazon.com.  She is co-chair of the American Psychological Association's “Business of Practice Network” committee to help advance the development of healthy psychological workplaces throughout CT.
